Today is a sad day for the rap community as it mourns the loss of the hip-hop legend Nate Dogg aka Nathaniel D. Hale, age 41. The cause of his death is still unclear according to reports I looked up online, but apparently he had been struggling with some health problems over the last several years. So in honor of the late great Nate Dogg I chose my favorite song he is featured in, “Till I Collapse” by Eminem. (Side Note: Although that’s my favorite, I would be remiss if I didn’t at least mention how amazing his last couple lines of Dre’s “The Next Episode” are, just sayin.) So I hope everyone enjoys the song and I think I can speak collectively when I say RIP Nate Dogg, your low, distinct voice featured on so many of our favorite rap songs added an epic quality that can never be mimicked or replaced; you will be sorely missed. Also: I cant help but wonder if he will be featured at all on Dr. Dre’s new album Detox when it drops… I guess we will just have to wait and see… if Dr. Dre ever decides to actually release his final album.
