Rap is definitely a genre that takes up a substantial amount of my iPod’s disk space, which is why it’s only fitting I share one of my favorite rap tracks.
Known for being the first rapper signed to Jay-Z’s record label, Roc Nation, J. Cole has made quite a name for himself. Although still unknown to some, J. Cole has continued to impress me over the years. His song “Higher,” released earlier this summer, undeniably proves him to be a talented rapper.
The song combines a groovy piano sound, followed by a solid bass line, creating a distinct feel good vibe, which is further emphasized in Cole’s solid verses, skillful delivery, and smooth flow.
