Victor Santiago, more commonly known as N.O.R.E, is gearing up for the release of his new album S.U.P.E.R.T.H.U.G.  The track “Electrolytes” is the first single off the album and features the super talented Macy Gray, who we haven’t heard in quite some time.  Also, you may remember N.O.R.E. from the “Bounce” by MSTRKRFT, one of my all time favorite songs.  “Electrolytes” may not knock your socks off but it will definitely get your head nodding.  Enjoy!

“Heartbeat” by Nneka - “You Sold Your Soul To The Evil And The Lust”

Nneka’s a Nigerian-German hip-hop/soul singer and songwriter that I can’t get enough of.  Her track “Heartbeat” is strangely addicting and the beat’s very unique.  She’s been a special guest on The Roots Jam Session and has toured with Nas and Damian Marley.  Check out “Heatbeat” below and let me know what you think!

“The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” by Red Hot Chili Peppers - “Who Said Three Is A Crowd”

Silly fly, pills are for humans.

Classic 90’s bands like 311, Third Eye Blind, and Sugar Ray have all released new albums over the past few years that have fallen flat upon release.  As far as the Red Hot Chili Peppers go, I can wholeheartedly say that their music has been consistent and as good as their first albums, if not better.  The first single, “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie,” off their upcoming album I’m With You is 100% Red Hot Chili Peppers.  It’s a great track even if you aren’t a big RHCP fan. 

Oh yeah, remember Kreashawyn?  The female rapper responsible for the viral hit “Gucci, Gucci,” well she’s directing the music video for “The Adventures of Rain Dance Maggie” (crazy, right?).  I’m pretty sure the video is done, so I’ll be on the look out and post it as soon as it hits the web!

P.S. - I think it needs more cowbell.

“Shut Up” by Mike Posner feat. Rusko - “Like I Care About Your Day”

Rusko and Mike Posner collaborate?  I couldn’t believe it when I saw the track on The Hype Machine.  After a few listens I had no choice but to add it to my iTunes.  There’s no denying it, “Shut Up” is a sick track that’s completely different from anything Posner and Rusko have done before.  The beat’s great and meshes well with Posner’s auto-tuned vocals.  If your hesitant about it being Posner, just remember it features Rusko - one listen is all it takes.
